World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Upgrades to items allow players to increase the gear score of an item to 700, and then add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory and heading to the kiln.
Certain items can be upgraded for their unique stats (like perfect rolled breakpoint armour used in melee PvP) and others, like weapons, do not vary greatly post upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, including attack damage, crit chance and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Additionally, many weapons have an added bonus that is activated when three or more of the same weapon are equipped on a unit. In some cases this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage that a weapon upgrades by itself.
The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For example, an +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade the gun will increase until it requires a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons also change the stats of their base. This is usually a good aspect, but it may also have negative effects. Upgrades can make things impossible to use, unless you are very lucky.
It is possible to upgrade armor items to increase their stats. This can increase the defense base of a helm or chest while belts and gloves will increase their required strength and agility. Armor also has an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it could roll back to a lower number.
The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading, along with the values of these stats. This means that an upgrade from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in the weapon gaining an attack damage of 3. The 3% difference does not mean that the weapon will hit 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.
A weapon can be rerolled by pressing the green button that has circular arrows within the item menu. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats however, it will not reset the weapon's level nor connect to the status of your account.
Armor
Making a few improvements to your armor could make a huge differences in your capacity to withstand. Certain sets provide massive boosts to poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, which can make traversing tough areas a breeze. The more defense your character has, the more value you can get out of each point of health, so it's important to upgrade your armor as often as you can.
To upgrade your armor, go to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four in total each of which requires you to complete a unique side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've completed the main quest and the corresponding fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of materials and Rupees required to complete each level will differ. In general, you'll need at anywhere between three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, as an example, can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which allows you to keep up in cold environments with a large number of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other is able to be upgraded as high as +20 defense, which means you can survive a raid with your comrades.
Be aware that armor can't be upgraded in the same manner as weapons, so you'll need to concentrate on upgrading it to gain physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power if you're Mage. You should also save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you'll still wear at the end of the story, such as the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you wear in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can gain some benefits to your armor. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades for the weapon that you'll use to beat the game. For example, the Longsword or Battleaxe. But item upgrading to have some upgrades for the armor on your chest and helmets to let you escape some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquid substances that, when consumed, give the player an effect on their status for a short period of time. There are five different types of potions, each having specific effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, increasing the effectiveness of their effects. Alternatively the effects of certain potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to them.
Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP, which can be earned by making them using a craft table or the Alchemist's chest. The price of upgrades varies based on the type of potion and the item's rarity as well as Mark Level.
To upgrade a potions you need to right-click it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI in which you can select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll give you when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time, and their XP will be added to the total XP you have.
Once a potion has been upgraded, it will not be degraded until you use it again or break the bottle it is stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to change its name.
There were a few updates to potion mechanics in version 1.7.2. For instance splash potions now have the duration of 0:08 (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display for the item). The table of potion constructed from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players in Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons, unlike Java Edition. This is the same for the use of a potion in a cauldron that is full. This will deplete the potion and refill the bottle.
There are also simmering potions that are made using dragon breath and splash potions. In the same way, a lingering potion effect can be extended by adding redstone to it. The potion table is now arranged more like the Java Edition, and new potions were introduced, including potion of leaping, decomposition potion, as well as turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket could be an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece jewelry. It could also be an object or ornament that serves a function but isn't important as a thimble. In some traditions, trinkets are used to symbolize affection or friendship, particularly between family members.
Trinkets can be upgraded by players as well as weapons and armor, as well as potions. Upgrades can be obtained by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Unlike other item upgrades trinkets, trinkets can be swapped out at will without losing their stats.

The upgrade vendors can be found in major cities and in the capital of each zone, as well as in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are bought with tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.
Upgrades to trinkets are an economical alternative to buying new ones. You can upgrade a trinket with just 12 tokens. The new trinket comes with the same level of base as the previous trinket however, it will also come with an additional 1% bonus upgrade.
Trinkets can be re-upgraded once they're no longer needed, allowing a player to increase their power and worth over time. They can be traded between players and are a viable alternative to gold.
In general, players should upgrade their most important items first. This usually refers to the most valuable-in-slot items for their class, then their secondaries and then other pieces of gear that they will not be replacing in the near future (for example an earring or cloak). Players should also take into consideration their class's preferred stats when deciding the items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to a tank player then they should consider upgrading their helm, chest and shoulders.
After they've become unusable trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket has an additional bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade will cause the trinket to be destroyed until it is salvaged using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades, but still cheaper than buying an entirely new trinket.
